    The Library of Birmingham.. Again…

Frankly it’s getting to the point now that I’m bored of this subject being bounded around in various online guises.┬á We all know that the current library is unfit for purpose; it leaks, damages priceless collections and is too small, in short we need a new one.

The earmarked land between Baskerville House and The Rep has been just that for several years and now that the architects have been appointed (Mecanoo) and the contracts signed it would seem that the all is go for lift off and the beginning of a new era for literacy.

What puzzles me still however is that people are actually lobbying to keep the old building! Why?┬á Just answer me that….
