    My Digital Life…

Posted in Thoughts on Things... & iPhone at 22:24 on Tuesday, January 27th, 2009 by Mr. Rant

Picture this it’s two-thousand and nine, technology is everywhere; in your pockets, on the bus, in your living room.  How I hear you cry do we keep all this connected together so that it updates the information we hold in a beauteous synchronicity? The internet is a wonderful thing and that’s not just the sections which are entirely full of pornography (although they are superb).

The advent of the cloud has made our digital connectivity even easier than before, the cloud space on the internet has been a stunning accessory that we can all use to integrate technology into our lives, for me I use the cloud to develop my work across the world from wherever I am, I have instant access to my files and documents, all you need is an internet connection.

You all know that I have an iPhone, this connects with my laptop and to my emails via Apple’s MobileMe service, all my emails and contacts get “pushed” to my phone and then everything works together and allows an instantly updated data stream.  I really don’t think I could live without the technology in my life, sad as it seems this is the truth, one day when the electricity runs out we’ll have to do it, and I wonder how well we will cope.

    Twitter and Celebrities…

Posted in Twitter at 1:36 on Tuesday, January 27th, 2009 by Mr. Rant

In recent days the lovely, the wonderful world of Twitter has been outed by several celebrities and has been awash with people following their antics and daily lives online.  Most of this has been directly caused by Johnathan Ross and Stephen Fry, I have no problem with celebs being on Twitter, it can only enrich our community but what I do have a problem with is the starstruck morons who follow them.

You see on Twitter you can follow certain people who may be of interest to you, you get to see all the tweets that they post and you can reply to them accordingly when it takes your fancy.  Tonight Russell Brand joined Twitter and in the two hours that he had been on the community he already had thousands of people following him, I must admit that I don’t like him.  I really don’t find him entertaining at all, and he’s quite dull in comparison to the likes of Lee Mack, Lee Evans and also Tim Minchin, but that’s beside the point.

So why follow them? You may want to get an insight into their lives, which admittedly is slightly stalkerish, you may want to get closer to them, which is slightly stalkerish.  Hold on, you’re effectively stalking them, I suppose that this would be indicative of the follow function that Twitter has.  Currently on my Twitter account I am following eight people, six of those being people who live near me and two of them being moderately famous.  Now there is a difference in being a celeb and being famous.  Famous people are generally well known because of something which is important, this is the case in my eyes with @girlwithonetrack, the link to her blog is below and right, in her case I find her blog riveting and important as a account of life.  The other person is @stephenfry, you can guess who that is from just the name.  Mr. Fry is a great ambassador for new technology and this is the reason that he is being followed.

If you join Twitter just to follow a celeb, don’t bother they’ll get bored with it in a week, and never update, if you want real insights into lives; follow someone who lives near you; (I don’t mean stalk them, yes that means you).  Lets just work hard to make our community somewhere that we can partake in this wonderful event and make our feelings known, don’t make it about celebrity.

    Shut your stupid mouth..

Posted in An Objective Opinion & Public Information at 18:13 on Sunday, January 25th, 2009 by Mr. Rant

Is what I would like to say to grammar Nazis that lurk around public forums on the internet.  if you’ve been following my bloggings you will realise that I am part of a Political forum, the link for said forum is on this very page.  I tend to hide on these forums and only write something when I deem that a point has not been put across.

I’m generally not aggressive unless you’re wrong.  No, that’s a bit strong, I’m never aggressive… much.  I’m assured that my opinion is welcomed and maybe even agreed with and we’re all human and make mistakes in our text based lives.  I am however aggravated by you Mr. Grammar and you Mrs. Comma in the Wrong Place.

I think we all have a right to free speech and as long as you can read it there isn’t a problem or is there?

I’ll leave that for you dear reader to decide.

    The shock of my life…

Posted in Anger Level 3 at 16:17 on Saturday, January 24th, 2009 by Mr. Rant

This morning when I arose from my pit, I did the usualing; had a wash, put my contact lenses in and got dressed.

Only when looking in the mirror did I discover how furrowed and aged my face is looking.

I really am getting old now, I feel as young and sprightly as ever but my face is showing now the years of frowning and disgust I show on a daily basis.  Maybe I should get some cream or something to try and regress the awful assault my face is confessing to.

Vanity on my part is now surely the only option.

I’m a miserable person who has no soul…

Posted in Gripes & Annoyances at 15:30 on Friday, January 23rd, 2009 by Mobile Rant

Apprently according to my work colleagues I’m cold hearted, miserable, mean and uncaring.

For what reason was I branded the above?

    I didn’t make a cup of coffee.

Yes, no coffee equals a personal and (maybe) unjustified attack. Apprently putting me in the same catagory as let’s say; George Bush or Margaret Thatcher; in my eyes is not entirely justified.

I haven’t sacked thousands of miner or started a war which was unfounded. I have simply forgone my obligations as cheif tea whip and created a thristy troop.

This is not why I’m miserable there’s other reasons for that.

    Argh mental blocks…

Posted in Thoughts on Things... at 10:43 on Monday, January 19th, 2009 by Mr. Rant

I cannot believe that this morning I have nothing to do.  Usually nine times out of ten I have a thousand different things to think about or a million different things to complete, be it work or some design project I have to work on.  It seems that this morning I really don’t have a lot to do.

The plan for the day is as follows:

    1. Get Dressed.
    2. Work on the blog design.
    3. Tweet.

As you can see there really isn’t a lot in this plan and Twittering is taking over my life.
