    Bad memory?

Posted in Anger Level 3 at 5:17 on Monday, April 20th, 2009 by Mr. Rant

I’ll be the first to admit that I have a bad memory.  I cannot remember the simplest of things.  I forget virtually everything; I really have an issue when it comes to remembering songs.  This morning I have spent the best part of an hour searching for a song that was released at least ten years ago and I cannot for the life of me remember what it is entitled or indeed who the artist was! How annoying!

So reader is your memory as bad as mine? Do you have a mind like a sieve?

Actually I recieved some spam email about a memeory drug….

    Theme of the Week: Spam.

    Gain Size Today – Spamtastic!

Posted in Anger Level 4 at 0:15 on Thursday, April 16th, 2009 by Mr. Rant

Well, over the past week or so I have been inundated by junk email aka Spam.  I have had nearly 500 in three days to my main email account.  Interesting that most of these are to have my member increased in size and or girth! Joyful emails you see, pills galore and a marvellous amount of email pornography, most of this of course is spam filtered and then deleted, hooray.

The problem is however; how do they get hold of my email address?  Mostly it comes from signing up to things on-line, forums which sell your details or the government most likely.  I’d like to think that somewhere someone in the Labour party is sending emails which contain defamatory remarks or offensive details…. Sounds familiar Good old Gordo encapsulated in a spin row, his aide resigns and no public apology.

So after much ado about very little; I’ve set up an auto response system on my email account, it’s great fun when you get an email that is spam.

My auto responder will reply as follows:

    “Hello ‘Gain Size Today’

You’ve sent an email to this account haven’t you?  Well it would seem that I have the time to reply to your email and also I might be interested in your services! I bet you haven’t heard that one before! So instead of sending me a link to a virus come around and I’ll make us a nice cup of tea! Won’t that be lovely…

If, of course,  you are genuinely interested in my website or want to use something on it, go to the page named: About and all the appropriate contact details are there! Simple eh?

    Kindest Regards,

    Mr. Rant”

Usually I get another email back from the sender and my auto-responder sends them another email! It’s an endless loop of backwards and forwards, automated chatter! It’s fantastic fun and utterly pointless but that’s half the fun of spam email, it’s a good laugh to read and wonder who sent it!

For the next week or so I’ll post every email I get in my spam box on the Spamtastic page!

The Witches of Eastwick – Reviewed….

Posted in Reviewed & The Arts at 23:30 on Monday, April 6th, 2009 by Mr. Rant

The much anticipated UK tour of The Witches of Eastwick opened at Birmingham’s Hippodrome Theatre this evening; and to say there wasn’t anticipation over this production would be an understatement.  The air of excitement filling the auditorium was palpable; I got the feeling that the cast was the reason the excitement prevailed.

Marti Pellow playing the devil being the reason that almost ninety percent of the audience were former Wet, Wet, Wet fans.  The show opened in standard expectation with the overture leading us into sound problems; the mix was off and the actress on stage could not be heard.  The cheap American accents added to the inaudability of the actors, it seems to be that the show was either under rehearsed or just not rehearsed this can be said of Pellow at least.  The supporting cast was able to carry the dancing and high movement light entertainment which Witches provides.

The dancers were good, the sets were good, the lighting was good; the show was average at best.  Not for a moment were you transported by Pellows’ performance; at one point it was impossible to understand him as his accent wavered from deep south American to deep north Glasgow.  His sexual movements allowed his fans to shout, woop and whistle but for the average theatre goer did nothing but put them off.

It comes to something to hear a sound technician speak during a show confessing his dislike of the production in three simple words:

    “This is shit”

My sentiments exactly.  Witches is weak the story line is poor and Pellow is foolish in his role.  Wincing while watching a show isn’t something I like to do during a performance but this was the only way to cope with his outlandish and boring performance.  It really was embarrassing to watch.

Verdict: If you like Marti Pellow and a bit of music then it’s worth seeing.  However, if you’re an avid theatre lover don’t bother, it’s a waste of three hours and rarely raises a smile.

The Witches of Eastwick is on all this week at Birmingham Hippodrome.

    Protests…

Posted in Anger Level 3 & Breaking News at 16:39 on Wednesday, April 1st, 2009 by Mr. Rant

So the G20 summit has kicked off today and so have the protests.  There has been an esitimated four thousand people holding a “peaceful” protest in the centre of London.  Contrary to popular opinion I have no problem with people talking about and making their views aired, what I do have a problem with is when you have to force your opinions upon the country.  It seems that the police are doing an excellent job in London controlling these mindless, violent liberals from causing too much trouble.

How can you possibly describe todays protests as peaceful, when officers have been injured and when property has been damaged?

    You can’t it’s that simple.

    More on this later….
